Complimentary newborn photography for families welcoming a baby after loss
Several years ago, I created the Rainbow Baby Initiative as a way to bring some light and love to families who had experienced the loss of a baby and were now welcoming another little one.
After taking a break from the program, I’m excited to bring it back in a smaller, more intentional format. These gift sessions allow me to combine my love of newborn photography with my desire to give back, while also helping to open the conversation around the sensitive but important topic of pregnancy and infant loss.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced relatively uncomplicated pregnancies and to be the mom of two amazing children. I know, however, that the journey to parenthood is not always an easy one. For families who have experienced the loss of a baby, welcoming a rainbow baby can bring an incredible mix of emotions.
Rainbow Baby Sessions are my way of celebrating these new babies, honoring the little angels who came before them, and giving families beautiful photographs of this incredibly important chapter.
At this time, I am able to offer 1-2 complimentary Rainbow Mini Sessions per quarter. To be considered for one of these limited sessions, interested families can apply via the link below. Please remember that only 4–6 families will be selected each year.

A Complimentary Mini Session for your Rainbow Baby
Welcoming a rainbow baby can be filled with so many different emotions. There is joy and excitement, but there can also be feelings that are difficult to put into words. As a newborn photographer, I know how quickly these early days pass. I wanted to create an opportunity for a small number of families to slow down, celebrate their new baby, and preserve these first memories.
What is a newborn mini session?
A Rainbow Baby Mini Session is approximately one hour in length. Sessions are usually for babies younger than one month of age, although I am happy to make exceptions for special circumstances. This is a baby-only session and does not include parent, sibling, or extended family portraits. Because this is a mini session, baby may remain wrapped for much of the session so I can capture a variety of images within our allotted time. This special session is not available for purchase and is only offered through this program. There will be 4-6 mini sessions gifted each year. This is intentionally a small program so that I can give each selected family the same thoughtful experience I provide to all my newborn clients. There is no obligation to purchase anything.
Each selected family will receive:
A complimentary newborn mini session (for baby only) in my Hudson, Ohio studio
One rainbow Fairy Tale Collection composite (optional)
Your choice of 10 high resolution digital images with print release

Please apply in good faith
As a courtesy to other local photographers and to the families applying for these limited sessions, I ask that you do not apply if you plan to book or have booked a newborn session with another photographer. Thank you for helping me keep these limited sessions available to families who truly need them.
the application process
Applications for Rainbow Baby Sessions will open four times each year: February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Each application period will remain open for approximately three weeks.
Because Rainbow Baby Sessions are offered throughout the year, applications are considered based on your baby’s estimated due date. You do not need to wait until you’re further along in your pregnancy to apply. However, I recommend applying during your second trimester before you’ve made other photography plans.
After each application period closes, 1–2 families will be selected for an upcoming Rainbow Baby Mini Session. Submitting an application does not guarantee a session, and only 4–6 sessions will be gifted each year.

What is a Rainbow Baby?
A rainbow baby is a baby born following the loss of a previous pregnancy or baby. The term represents finding light and hope after a difficult storm. While a Rainbow Baby Session is an opportunity to celebrate your new baby, we can also take this opportunity to honor your angel if you would like. Book a Signature Session
I wish I could photograph every family who applies, but that simply isn’t possible. However, not being selected doesn’t mean you can’t have the newborn photographs you’ve imagined.
If you’d like a longer, more personalized newborn photography experience, you’re always welcome to book a signature newborn session with me. And if you’d like to incorporate your rainbow baby’s story into your photographs, we can absolutely create images that include rainbow-inspired colors, details, or imagery as part of your session.
Your baby’s story is unique to your family, and your session can be created around what feels meaningful to you.
