16 Uplifting Rainbow Baby Newborn Portraits
“A rainbow baby is the miracle that lights your world with hope after a storm.”
So, what is a Rainbow Baby? In simple terms, a ‘Rainbow Baby’ is a newborn baby who is welcomed into a family after the loss of a previous baby, due to miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth. When a rainbow appears, it provides a family with joy, while honoring the past storm, and acknowledging that the family is still dealing with its aftermath.
A rainbow shows us beauty and light that has appeared in the midst of the darkness.
Some of my favorite and most treasured newborn portraits are those of my little rainbow baby clients. It is a privilege to photograph every newborn, but when parents share their painful journey with me, and we can honor their previous child(ren) through art, it truly warms my heart.

Rainbow Baby Sessions
My Rainbow Baby Initiative is back! After several years away, I’m excited to once again offer a limited number of complimentary newborn sessions to families welcoming a rainbow baby. I currently offer just 4–6 complimentary Rainbow Baby Sessions each year at my Hudson, Ohio studio.
